COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

JOB TYPE: Part-time (20 hours/week)
SALARY: $20/hour
DEADLINE: Ongoing

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and adhere to a content calendar, and execute posting and community management on social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, and additional social media platforms as recommended with the growth of this position

    • Work with program personnel, artists, and contractors to source content including photos and videos

  • As related to artist and community programs; plan, promote, and execute event promotion (with support of program personnel) including:

    • Social, email, and traditional recruitment

    • Media outreach

    • On-site event documentation and support as necessary

  • Update Threshold Arts and Chateau Theatre website event calendars, program content, and blogs with support of program personnel

  • Manage customer database for marketing and cultivation

  • Execute creation and distribution of bi-weekly e-newsletter with input from program personnel

  • Advertise artist and community programs on community calendars

  • Organize distribution of print collateral including posters, brochures, and event invitations


ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Support the operation of Threshold’s retail storefront and Chateau Theatre during business hours

  • Support Threshold onsite at events and programs as requested 

  • Assist with special projects and research as assigned 


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • One to three years experience in communications, marketing, and/or social media management

  • Retail and/or customer service experience preferred

  • Demonstrable knowledge of and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)

  • Experience with Squarespace website management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professionalism and discretion

  • Outstanding attention to detail 

  • Ability to work positively with others and thrive in a demanding, fast-paced, and rapidly-changing environment 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks that vary in complexity and urgency

  • Self-motivated, empathetic, creative, forward-thinker open to creating new strategies for promotion

  • Must be able to anticipate operational needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision 

  • Be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
